What Are Those Night Flashes And Booms?
By James Donahue
In the early morning of June 3, 2004, people throughout the Northwestern United States from Oregon north to Vancouver Island witnessed a bright flash in the sky followed by a loud explosive "boom." And this odd and unexplained phenomenon has been occurring all over the world ever since.
After the 2004 event news reports quoted "officials" as saying it was probably a meteor. Others speculated it may have been a piece of space junk burning up as it entered the Earth's atmosphere.
"As far as I’ve been able to figure out, it was simply a rock falling out of the sky," said Geoff Chester, spokesman for the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. He suggested it was a meteor called a bolide, about the size of a computer monitor and creates a fireball in the sky as it passes overhead.
Witnesses along a 60-mile swath of the Puget Sound region from the Tacoma area to Whidbey Island, and as far as 260 miles to the east said the sky lit up. People reported booms that sounded like one or more explosions. Night television monitors indicated the flash was bright enough to temporarily turn the night into day.
On June 10, just one week later almost to the hour, it happened again on the opposite side of the world.
People in Wairoa, New Zealand, were awakened at 3:40 a.m. by a loud explosion and bright flash that light up the night sky over a large area. Authorities thought it might have been a meteor, or possibly an earthquake.
Businessman Richard Michaelsen thought at first it was thunder. "I stayed awake to see if there were any more. It was a weird noise," he said.
Kay Leather, an astronomer at Carter Observatory, suggested a meteor. "There have been several recent reports of fireballs in the northern hemisphere, in Portugal and in Washington," she said.
And if you spend the time chasing down the filed news reports it will be shown these events were the beginning of flashes and explosive noises that have been occurring at various intervals ever since. A contemporary report by Michael Snyder in February, 2019, bears this out. Writing for the website True Conservative Pundit, Snyder wrote:
“For weeks, Americans all over the country have been rattled by extremely loud booming sounds that seem to have no explanation, and they are often accompanied by “mysterious flashes of light”. These strange booms are shaking homes and rattling windows, and some witnesses say that they sound like cannons being fired. And even though the “mystery booms” and accompanying flashes of light have been captured on camera all across the nation, so far the authorities do not have a reasonable explanation for why they are happening. Unfortunately, it does not appear that this strange phenomenon is going to go away any time soon. In fact, the Sun is reporting that the frequency of these “mystery booms” appears “to have gathered pace over the past week…
“We have entered a period of time when we should expect the unexpected. Things are strange and they are going to get a whole lot stranger. We aren’t always going to be able to explain what is happening, but without a doubt our planet is becoming increasingly unstable, and that growing instability is going to cause great chaos in the months and years ahead,” the Snyder article stated.
The more current reports include loud bangs heard in Rhode Island followed by an “explosion” and flash in the night sky over New York, incidents that stirred the Snyder report. When he went on line Snyder discovered that loud booms were reported in Tennessee, North Carolina and other parts of the world.
Local police agencies say they have been at a loss to explain these explosive noises . . . so powerful that they wake people from their sleep and cause homes to rattle. Some “officials” have been quoted by the media as suggesting they were meteors or maybe pieces of space junk burning up as they enter the Earth’s atmosphere.
The incident we wrote about in 2004 noted that witnesses along a 60-mile swath of the Puget Sound region, from Tacoma to Whidbey Island and as far as 260 miles to the east saw the sky light up. People reported numerous booms. Night television monitors indicated that the flash was bright enough to temporarily turn night into day.
Then one week later, almost to the hour, it happened again over Wairoa, New Zealand, on the opposite side of the world.
Indeed, a search of the web produced a report by Portuguese television station SIC, including a home video clip, showing a bright burning object passing over the Algarve region near the Spanish border sometime in January, 2004. The story said the object passed just over the treetops. The story said the woman heard no sound.
This light flew west-northwest past Lisbon where firefighters on duty watched it pass. But then observers said it turned into a northern path, following the shape of the coast where it was observed once more at Porto. This particular object was picked up by at least two radar stations.
Anyone surfing the web these days knows that UFO observations have been getting more and more numerous. Not only are unidentified lights being seen in the night sky, but strange disk and triangular-shaped ships are being seen in the daytime sky as well. Not only seen but photographed.
Since it was recorded on radar, and apparently changed its direction of travel, the light over Portugal was probably a UFO. But what about the other flashes of lights and loud booms in the night? That they would occur within a week of one another, on opposite sides of the Earth, suggests that something else may be going on than chanced meteor falls.
That a real meteor, the size of a large grapefruit, crashed through the roof of a home in Auckland, New Zealand, only a few days after the flash in the New Zealand sky, makes the two incidents even more suspicious. Meteor strikes happen, but they appear to be rare and certainly not as well orchestrated as these incidents have been.
Other thoughts: Are the flashing and booms being emitted from the bowels of the Mother Earth? Are they the result of some secret military experiments? Many religious leaders are suggesting that these are among the signs of the times, and that they believe we are living in the last days.
