James Donahue is a retired author, journalist and historian who has worked on daily and weekly newspapers in Michigan and Arizona. You can learn all about him by clicking on My Story and reading the various published accounts of his life.
Mr. Donahue has been writing newspaper columns and editorial content for the past 20 years. He has been the author of numerous books and publications about Michigan and Great Lakes history. During his years working for newspapers he served as religion and music editor for the Kalamazoo Gazette, opened and maintained a South Haven news bureau for the former News Palladium in Benton Harbor, and supervised a busy news bureau in Sandusky, Michigan for the Times Herald in Port Huron.
He is a graduate of Central Michigan University and holds a bachelor's degree with majors in English Literature and Journalism, and a minor in sociology. He also has completed extensive university level study in biology, history, art and Bible.
Mr. Donahue and his late wife, Doris, are the parents of four children.
He is currently retired and living with his daughter, Jennifer, in California.
